The second most pressing item on our needs/desires list was the unsafe, very limited, and handicap challenged traffic patterns and parking spaces for all of our buildings (church, rectory/office, and school).
The third thing on this list of needs/desires was the inadequate or lack of space for our ministries to work and the inappropriate and inaccessible aspect of those spaces that we do have.
When we engaged the Environmental Design Group as engineering and site development consultants they took up the task of learning about our parish life and examining how these limitations were affecting our mission to be a welcoming parish community alive for the current generation of Catholics in our area.
They observed our busiest times of day (weekdays and weekends both), the examined our infrastructure, did traffic studies, soil samples, topographical studies, water management assessments, and so much more.
Having accomplished all of that these experts proposed the "three zone, two entrance site plan" and the spreading out of our parish space by locating the parish offices and parish ministry center in the middle of the property to improve safety, accessibility, traffic flow, and aesthetics of our entire campus.
While the Parish Life Center is certainly the most hopeful and exciting aspect of our Building Faith Plan, the redesigned parking, traffic and roadways are the secret to making our parish property the inviting, accessible and adaptable place for our vibrant ministry to take shape.
Thanks for these questions. If you have onhe send it to us at the parish office or at
