The Parish Pastoral Council of St. Albert the Great is looking to refresh its membership with the addition of four new members. You might wonder what qualifications are needed to be part of this vital piece of our catholic parish. Its members should be of proven faith with sound morals, demonstrate the gifts of wisdom and prudence, and be willing to commit their time, talent and wisdom in a consultative and collaborative manner. You might also ask what does the Parish Pastoral Council do? The Pastoral Council is a consultative body that assists the pastor, Fr. Estok, in planning for the needs of our faith community of St. Albert the Great. Its purpose is to form community as a sign and witness of unity for the larger Parish community; to provide recommendations for Parish priorities, directions, and policies through pastoral planning; and to promote communication and understanding among Parish organizations and between the Parish, the diocese of Cleveland, and the universal Church. We ask for the guidance of the Holy Spirit in this process. We also have the Pastoral Council bi-laws which offer guidance on how this process should proceed. After prayerful discernment and interviews of the candidates presented, four parishioners will be offered the opportunity to join the PPC. This term is a two-year term with the option for a two-year renewal. On behalf of the St. Albert the Great faith community, we express gratitude for the parishioners who will answer the call to be candidates for Pastoral Council. If you have an interest in this great opportunity, please email us and let us know so we can forward you an application and give you further information on the process. We ask that anyone interested, please contact the parish.
