Attention All Young Singers Grades 3-8!
Sign-ups to join the St. Albert Parish Youth Choir for the 2024-2025 school year are open! This group is open to all young singers in grades 3-8 at both the day school AND in the PSR program! NOTE: this is a different choir from any of Mrs. Keller’s choirs that sing exclusively at school concerts and masses. This choir is run by the parish Music Director, Mr. John Webb, and will be involved in singing masses and special events in the parish for weekend masses! Students involved need not have any prior experience, just a desire to sing, learn, and praise God! For more information, click here!
When we think of church music, bells are usually one of the first things that comes to mind. Ever wonder what it takes to play the bells, but not sure where you would begin? Join our new Music Director, John Webb, and members of the St. Albert Handbell Choir as they walk you through the “how tos” of ringing bells! We will go over basics of reading music, how to properly grip and play bells, and work on several simple hymns. These sessions are free and open to all parishioners with an interest in enriching their faith through music. No previous music experience or skill required! We will walk you through how to play, and you may find it’s simpler than you think! The sessions will take place in the downstairs of the church, in the Music Room, Small Hall B, on Tuesday, August 27th, from 7 to 8:30pm, and on Sunday September 8th at 12:45pm (after 11:30am mass). Feel free to attend one or both sessions! Looking forward to “ringing” with you!
