“Building Faith: a New Generation“ is the name and the invitation of our parish master plan. Building Faith is a great description of what Saint Albert Catholic community has done over the 60 years since our founding. Building Faith is the challenge facing our community today and into the future. Building Faith is the essence of this master plan presented in the following four pages. Please join me today in being grateful for all that has been and being hopeful about what we can do, with God’s help and your cooperation, as we serve the needs, hopes, and dreams of the church now and for a new generation.
What is described in the pages below and printed in this week’s parish bulletin is the result of a three-year planning, consulting, and dreaming effort. The leaders of our parish and our parish ministries have stimulated great growth in our ministries, parish activities, and parish outreach to the world in the name of Christ. Our aging buildings, facilities and grounds have quite frankly been worn out by all of it and been outgrown by all of us as we engage in the great works of ministry.
What is proposed in the following pages, “Building Faith: a New Generation” is a combination of greatly needed repairs and replacement of our property, expansion for and appropriate space needs of the multiplying ministries and activities, and the accommodation and safety of all the people of our community that they might better and more securely engage in this great community’s faith life.
Next weekend, March 23/24, every household will have the opportunity to complete a very short but helpful survey providing input and suggestions for this proposed plan. Please read through these pages today and prepare for the survey next weekend. I am truly convinced that “Building Faith” is the next step in parish life to which God is calling us. I invite you to join me in responding to God’s great call.
